Fall Recap: Girls Soccer
This year the girls soccer team was switched from Bay State to Tri Valley finishing the season 2-16-0. The switch lead to a stronger competition for Norwood but they handled it. Some schools that were faced were more skilled than teams that were ever played by before. The team started off trying to find their rhythm game after game the girls team got better and better. Even when they played one team, the second time around playing them they greatly improved. With the improvement the girls brought each and every day they were able to show off their skills. This season the girls soccer team won two games. Stoughton was there first no-league win. The win against the Stoughton Knights was ended with a score of 3-0. The goals were scored by Freshman Ally Steeves and Sophomore Erin McDermott and Maeve Glavin. The game was a definite match up for Norwood and the girls played outstanding. Bellingham was the teams first league win in Tri-Valley. The win against the Bellingham Raiders was ended with a score of 6-2. The goals were scored by Senior Captain Jess Keller, Sophomore Maeve Glavin, Erin McDermott and Taylor Brinklow, Freshman Ally Steeves and Maren Giambanco. With a team of 6 seniors this year makes it a terrible deficit for the girls soccer team. Losing returners and captains Jess Keller, Rachael Ringler, Anya Bodenhofer and newcomers to varsity Hannah Grupposo, Catherine Hurley and Mikayla Jordan makes a lot more openings for the next year to come. This will make the younger players have a lot of responsibility to take charge and step up.
