Mustang Mid Season Report: Girls Hockey
This winter Norwoods girls ice hockey team was looking to improve from their season last year after making past the preliminary round. Norwood is now half way through the season and is 6-2-3 with only 7 points until qualifying for the state tournament. With 11 games left, the team has to win 4 (or win 3 tie 1) out of the next 10 games to follow through with the goal of making it in tournament, as they did last year. Norwoods top scorers this year are Allie McDonough, Maggie Curran, and Allie Martin, all on offense for the Mustangs. Goalie Jenna Mazzola has also been playing very strong along with the 4 defensive players. McDonough, a junior, has 11 goals half way through the season with 2 hat tricks. On her line is junior Allie Martin and freshman Marissa Cataldo who have been scoring a majority of the goals for the Lady Mustangs. Overall, Norwood high girls hockey is looking for winning a majority of the next 11 games to not only make tournament but also get a high seed.
